Changes to Aviation Claims Management
June 13, 2019Starting September 10th, 2019, the claim management responsibilities of our Aviation Program will be assumed entirely by the newly formed Sompo International (Sompo) in-house claims team, managed by Keith Wright, Vice President of Aviation Claims. Keith has been working closely with us since the inception of our partnership with Sompo International in 2015 and has more than 30 years of experience in aviation insurance.
There is a well-known adage which says that to travel fast you should go alone but to travel far you should go with trusted companions. Bob Kern of Kern & Wooley has been such a companion of ours for more than 50 years, well before the founding of W. Brown & Associates in 1987. His guidance, skill, loyalty and wisdom were all essential to the success of this firm and we want to thank him for his contributions.
Provisions, of course, have been made for a smooth transition of claims adjusting and legal services in support of the W. Brown & Associates program. We are confident that the Sompo Claims team will deliver on the same commitment to protecting the interests of our clients and business partners that Bob and the Kern & Wooley team have demonstrated.
Kern & Wooley and Sompo will collaborate closely through a transition period to ensure a smooth transfer of responsibilities, including transitioning pending claims at the time of the migration in September. Sompo will maintain the Claims team presence in Los Angeles and plans to add dedicated Claims staff in their Atlanta and New York City offices. Additional details will follow.
